Mixed Bag
A Chapman Senior Thesis about the difficulties being Mixed Race but with a twist. The doubts of our protagonist, Niko, manifest into web like cloth that appears whenever she faces micro-aggressions. Shot over 6 days. 2 days in a house in LA, 3 days at a private high school, and 1 day on the largest sound stage at Dodge College.
Diner at Dawn
Written over the course of a spring semester and filmed during the following fall of 2024 during a gap semester. This film is about the fight or flight mental state of a people pleaser. Fighting between the danger you feel when not pleasing someone and the will to defend your own needs. The “fight” feeling is manifested into a monster made from Tara’s mind. Production occurred in early November and was shot over 3 days. One day dedicated to the kitchen in Jurupa Valley, California. A day for an apartment shoot in Orange County. The last day in an empty location which we dressed as a diner.
Objection!
A Mother and Daughter get into one of their regular fights - which is, of course, a courtroom brawl. A comedy with a dash of heartfelt family fun, this short a creative reimagining of a family feud. Shot over 3 days. One day at the house location and two days on a sound stage.
Taste of You
A young woman relives her heartbreak over a cup of coffee. We shot over two days. The first being in a cafe in El Segundo, a city within Los Angeles. The second day was in a small photography studio in Downtown LA.
Social Anxiety
A socially anxious shut-in faces his final test, to get out of his comfort zone and embrace the outside world. It was a one day shoot. Half of the day in the house. The other half, we traveled across Los Angeles to shoot our astronauts voyage out of his comfort zone. Ending the day at the beach, wherein he settles with inner peace he’s discovered.
